Privacy Policy
What we collect, what we do with it, and how to ask about it.
Last updated 14 October 2026
Anything Metal (ABN 60 687 815 094) is a custom wrought iron workshop in Sydney. This page explains what we collect when you use this website or send us an enquiry, what we do with it, and how to reach us about it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- When you send an enquiry: your name, email address, phone number, the address of the job, what you tell us about it, and any photos or PDFs you attach.
- When we quote, contract and invoice you: the quotes, contracts and invoices we issue, your acceptance of them (including your signature where a written contract is required by law), and records of payments.
- When you browse: the usual website analytics (which pages were visited, from where, on what device) through Google Analytics and Google Ads, which use cookies to measure visits and enquiries. When you send an enquiry, a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address and phone number goes to Google Ads, so we can see which of our ads bring enquiries and work, including whether an enquiry went ahead as a job (no prices are shared). Google can't read the original details from it. The enquiry form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which checks how you use the page to tell people from bots.
How we use it
To reply to you and quote the job. To carry out, invoice and keep records of the work. To send you the documents and reminders that go with your job. To meet our legal obligations, including tax and building records. To understand how the website is used and improve it.
We don't sell personal information.
Marketing
We may use your email address or phone number to tell you about our own services and offers in future. Every marketing email or text will say how to opt out, and you can opt out at any time by contacting us. We don't make marketing calls to numbers on the Do Not Call Register.
Who we share it with
The Google services that run this website and our business systems: Firebase (where enquiries and job records are stored), Gmail (which sends our quotes and invoices), Maps (address suggestions in the form), reCAPTCHA, Analytics and Ads. Our accountant and insurer, where the business needs it. Otherwise only when the law requires it.
We may also give contact details to advertising platforms such as Google to build customer lists for our own advertising, so our ads reach people who have enquired with us, or people like them. Those platforms hold the list in a protected form and don't pass it to other advertisers. You can ask us at any time to be taken off those lists.
Where it is stored
Our systems run on Google's servers, which may be located outside Australia, including in the United States. Google protects that data under its own security standards. By sending us an enquiry you agree to it being stored there.
How long we keep it
Photos and files attached to an enquiry are deleted automatically 120 days after they are uploaded, unless the enquiry becomes a job. Enquiries that don't go ahead are archived and periodically deleted. Quotes, contracts, invoices and payment records are kept for as long as Australian tax and building laws require, which is generally at least five years.
How we protect it
Only our team can see enquiries and job records, through Google sign-in to our business system. Information travels encrypted between your browser and our systems. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep access tight and keep what we hold to what the job needs.
Our Google account
Our business system connects to our own business Google account to send email and to read receipts emailed to us. Anything Metal's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your choices
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete what we are not required to keep. You can tell us to stop marketing to you, or to remove you from any advertising list, and we will. You can block cookies in your browser; the website still works. If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, contact us first and we will sort it out with you. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
