How long does it take to build and install a driveway gate?
Most driveway gate projects are completed within 4-6 weeks from design approval. Automated gates may need additional time for motor and intercom integration.
Can you automate an existing manual gate?
In many cases, yes. We assess the existing gate and driveway. We install most plug-and-play motors ourselves. Heavier or branded setups (DItec etc.) are handled with the motor brand specialist and a trusted electrician. Some gates may need reinforcement to support a motor system.
What's the difference between swing and sliding gates?
Swing gates open inward or outward like a door and work best on flat driveways with space for the gate arc. Sliding gates move horizontally and are ideal for steep driveways or limited clearance.
What finishes are available for driveway gates?
All our gates are hot-dip galvanised, primed and finished in marine-grade paint. We can colour match any sample you provide. Unlike powder coating, we handle the prep, primer and painting in-house over galvanised surfaces.
Do you work on heritage properties and council-controlled streets?

What does a typical driveway gate cost?

Do automated driveway gates need a dedicated power supply or extra electrical work?
Yes for any motorised gate. A licensed electrician runs a dedicated circuit from the meter board to the gate motor and any access control gear. For Sydney heritage homes we coordinate with the electrician to keep the conduits hidden from the streetfront.
Can you integrate intercoms, keypads or remote access into a driveway gate?
Yes. Plug-and-play motor brands take standard intercom, keypad and remote handsets. For heavier setups we work with the motor brand and a trusted electrician to integrate keypads, photo cell safety beams and any extras the property needs.
How wide do driveway gates need to be to fit two cars in Sydney?
Most modern Sydney homes are designed for 3 metres minimum per car, so a double driveway gate sits at 5 to 6 metres total. We custom-fit to the actual driveway, not the standard, so older homes with narrower entries still get a proper gate.
